BENNET DE KLERK

OWNER / TRAINING MANAGER

About BENNET

Your Trainer Principal was fortunate to grow up on a Kalahari Game Farm. He had an early fascination with animal tracking and the Bushmen, leading to a number of disciplinary issues in high school, where his refusal to wear shoes led to a certain amount of friction with school authorities. After finishing his degree at the University of the Orange Free State, he embarked on a 4-year stint as overland safari guide. This took him through memorable voyages of Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia. On May 1, 1994, he took a position with Kwa Maritane in the Pilanesberg National Park. He was soon promoted to training officer for guides, and since 1996 he has been a full time guide trainer. He is a Level 3 SKS (Dangerous Game) guide and assessor. He has also sustained his military career in the Reserve Forces, and has attained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the SANDF. His passion is developing naturalists (the ones who wear clothes). He wears shoes quite often, these days.
